Everything Faith Flame does

Nine features, explained one by one: what each one solves, what the free plan includes, and what needs a connection.

Faith Flame is a Bible reading and study app for iPhone and Android. This page describes every feature the way it actually works — no promise the app does not keep. Anything marked Premium is locked on the free plan; everything else you use without paying and without entering a card.

The complete Bible, stored on your device

Five translations that open with no internet, no loading screen and no data usage.

When you install Faith Flame, the entire biblical text comes with it. This is not streaming and not a cache that expires: the books live in a database inside your phone, and that is where every chapter is read from. In practice it means opening Psalms on the subway, on a plane in airplane mode or out in the countryside and getting the same instant response every time. Search by book, chapter and verse also runs on the device, so it answers while you type.

The five translations that ship with the app

  • Edição Chama da FéPT · Catholic
  • Bíblia LivrePT · Evangelical
  • Catholic Public Domain VersionEN · Catholic
  • King James VersionEN · Evangelical
  • Reina-ValeraES · Evangelical
  • Five complete translations included at install time
  • Search by book, chapter and verse with no connection
  • Zero data usage for reading
  • Only the AI chat, the generated devotional and the multiplayer quiz need internet

The first thing the app asks is which tradition is yours

The choice changes the translation, the canon and the tone of the answers — it is not a label on a profile.

Catholics and Evangelicals do not read the same Bible, and the app starts from there. Here, choosing the Catholic tradition switches the text to an edition that includes the deuterocanonical books; choosing Evangelical gives you the 66-book canon. The AI answers inside the tradition you picked, and the devotionals and prayers follow the same path. You can switch whenever you want, in settings.

Catholic
Evangelical
  • Catholic edition with the deuterocanonical books, in English and Portuguese
  • The 66-book canon in the Evangelical editions
  • Your tradition guides the AI answers and the devotionals
  • The choice can be changed at any time

Questions answered from Scripture

Every answer cites chapter and verse — and you check it right there, in the text inside the app.

You type, or hold the microphone and say, whatever you want to ask: why Jesus taught in parables, what the Bible says about anxiety, how to forgive someone who hurt you. The answer is built from the biblical text and comes with the references, so you can open the verse and read the context yourself. When Scripture has no answer for the question, the app says so instead of inventing one. The free plan has a daily message limit; Premium does not.

Questions people actually ask

  • How do I forgive someone who hurt me?
  • What does the Bible say about anxiety?
  • Why did Jesus teach in parables?
  • Chapter and verse cited in every answer
  • Ask by typing or by holding the microphone
  • Daily limit on free, no limit on Premium
  • The AI can get things wrong — which is why it always shows you where to check

A new devotional every day, in three parts

Reflection, Teaching and Prayer, built from the verse of the day.

The devotional of the day arrives ready on your home screen, split into Reflection, Teaching and Prayer — the same structure every day, so it becomes a habit instead of a chore. If a verse in your reading speaks to you, you can turn that verse into a devotional of your own on the spot. Alongside it there is the Challenge of the Day, a different one for each weekday with a Super Combo on Sunday, and a weekly recap showing how your week in the Word went.

Seven stages that answer “where do I even start”

A path that starts at the first Gospel and ends at the Grand Finale, in the order that makes sense.

Reading from Genesis to Revelation is the most common advice and the most common reason people quit: almost nobody gets through Leviticus alone. Guided Reading reorganizes the text into seven stages, starting with the Gospels and moving through the early Church, the origin, the letters, the prophets and reflections to the close. Each stage unlocks the next as you go, and the widget shows which chapter is next. It is a Premium feature: on the free plan you still read the whole Bible, but in free mode, choosing your own path.

The seven stages, in order

  1. 1The Gospels
  2. 2The Early Church
  3. 3The Origin
  4. 4The Letters
  5. 5The Prophets
  6. 6Reflections
  7. 7The Grand Finale
  • Seven stages, from the Gospels to the Grand Finale
  • The next stage opens as you progress
  • Your next chapter shows up in the home screen widget
  • Free reading stays available on the free plan

Play alone, in study mode, or with your group in the same room

Five difficulty levels, multiple choice or open answers, and a room with a code so you can play together.

The quiz runs from First Steps to Divine Revelation, and the harder levels unlock as your account level goes up — so do the open-answer questions, which make you write instead of pick. In group matches you create a room, send the six-character code to whoever you want, and everyone plays at the same time with the scoreboard updating live: three people per room on free, fifteen on Premium. And there is study mode, where a question you miss comes back at the end of the round until you get it right.

The five difficulty levels

  1. 1First Steps
  2. 2Spiritual Journey
  3. 3Deep Knowledge
  4. 4Challenge of the Wise
  5. 5Divine Revelation
  • Five difficulty levels, unlocked as you level up
  • Multiple choice, open answers, or both mixed
  • Room with a code: 3 people on free, 15 on Premium
  • Study mode: miss it, review it and learn it in the same round

The streak that brings you back tomorrow

Every day of reading lights the flame, becomes XP and raises your level — from Word Apprentice to Scripture Master.

Reading, answering the quiz, talking to the AI and completing the Challenge of the Day all earn XP, and XP raises your level. Each level band carries a title, and the streak counts the consecutive days you opened the app and did something. Losing a streak stings, which is exactly why it works. If a day slips away, there is streak recovery: complete a quiz in study mode before midnight and the streak comes back. The activity calendar shows the whole month, and badges mark every milestone you hit.

The six level titles

  1. 1Apprentice of the Word
  2. 2Attentive Scribe
  3. 3Faithful Disciple
  4. 4Eloquent Preacher
  5. 5Insightful Theologian
  6. 6Master of Scripture
  • Six level titles, from Word Apprentice to Scripture Master
  • Streak recovery through a quiz in study mode
  • Activity calendar and badges for each milestone
  • XP 1.5x faster on Premium

The Word on your screen before the first scroll

Verse of the day, streak and next reading right on your home screen.

The widget shows the verse of the day, your current streak with the next milestone, and the next chapter of your reading — without opening the app. On iPhone it also works on the lock screen, in all three iOS formats, on top of the small, medium and large home screen sizes. On Android the widget is a home screen widget. The app ships a step-by-step tutorial for each system, because the hard part of a widget is never the widget: it is remembering how you add one.

Verse of the day

The LORD is my shepherd; I shall not want.

Psalm 23:1

StreakNext chapter
  • Verse of the day, streak and next reading

Whatever struck you stays saved

Verses, devotionals, conversations and quiz questions saved to your account.

One tap saves the verse you want to reread, the devotional that spoke to you, the conversation worth revisiting or the quiz question that stuck in your head. It all lives in your account rather than on the device: switching phones erases nothing, you just sign back in. And since the data is yours, account deletion sits inside the app — no need to ask anyone.

  • Conversations
  • Quiz questions
  • Verses, devotionals, conversations and quiz questions
  • Saved to your account — survives a change of phone
  • Account and data deletion straight from the app
